It’s 2:29am EST on August 26th, and it is officially Jason’s birthday in Colorado!!

Then.

My oldest and dearest friend is 22 today. For those of you who went to Holy Family with me, you know that Jason and I were pretty much inseparable all 4 years. In fact, a lot of people thought we were dating! That’s hilarious now, considering… the facts ;) Anyway, we were just the best of friends. We were always together, finishing each other’s thoughts and laughing our faces off. We met in 9th grade. I was the mediator between Jason and a friend of mine who was deeply infatuated with him. Well nothing ended up happening between them, but after that day Jason and I were drawn to each other and a bizarre friendship developed over time. It was easy because he was always right next to me in every class we had together-thank god for alphabetical seating (Wiswall, Zeren)! He was there through all my phases. He saw all my horrible haircuts/haircolors, all my poor wardrobe choices. He heard every dumb word that came out of my mouth, and he saw everything that I went through. I was with him pretty much every day for four years, and then one day he went off to college in New York City. It broke my heart. But the thing that’s so fantastic about he and I is the fact that I can go months without seeing him and just pick up where we left off last. I am always amazed by that. He’s pretty much the platonic love of my life. He’s my family. Boyfriends come and go, but Jason is always there. And I get to see him in 3 months! YAY!
